Why winter is hard on AdBlue systems
AdBlue freezes at around -11°C. Manufacturers fit a tank heater to thaw it, and when that heater or its relay fails, the ECU logs a fault immediately.
Short winter journeys never bring the SCR catalyst up to its working temperature, so dosing is inefficient and the ECU sees poor conversion efficiency.

What you can do
Park undercover where possible and try to include one longer journey a week to get the exhaust properly hot.
Only use fresh, sealed, ISO 22241-compliant AdBlue — old or contaminated fluid triggers quality faults.
If the fault has already been logged, none of the above will clear it. At that point the choice is a component repair or a permanent ECU-level removal.
