This is the number one question we get asked. The short answer: our AdBlue removal is designed to be MOT-friendly, but there are things you should still know before you book.
The MOT emissions test
For diesel vehicles, the MOT measures smoke opacity — not NOx. A properly removed AdBlue strategy has no negative impact on this test.
Warning lights (EML, AdBlue) are inspected. Our removal clears these lights permanently, so the vehicle passes cleanly.
Visual inspection
The MOT does not include a physical inspection of the AdBlue tank, pump or injectors. All original hardware stays in place.
Some testers may perform a scan for stored codes on newer vehicles — because our removal is done at ECU level, there are no relevant codes to find.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to refill AdBlue after removal?+
No — the tank can be left empty and the vehicle will drive normally with no warnings.
Is DPF removal the same thing?+
No. AdBlue (SCR) and DPF are separate systems. We keep the DPF fully functional so the vehicle remains MOT-compliant.
